Hi all!

Homework bags are in your child's backpack.

Math - always a review of material for Grade 4.
Language - there will always be a short writing piece. Students should be writing every day.

Parents, please ensure homework has been completed. Homework is due Thursday but I will take it Friday if there are special circumstances.

Tomorrow is the 400 metre run. Please ensure students bring waterbottles, hats, sunscreen, etc.

I'm still looking for volunteers for the ROM on June 4th. If there are no parent volunteers, we will be unable to go.

Parent Volunteers Needed for the ROM

Hi there!

Ms Bourikos and myself will be taking all of the Grade 4's (English) to the ROM on Monday, June 4. We are looking for a number of parent volunteers. We are taking a yellow school bus and part of the day will be spent doing a small-group scavenger hunt around the ROM's Ancient Civilizations exhibits. Please consider spending the day at the ROM with our energetic and enthusiastic Grade 4's.

Concert Update

Stage Left should wear GREEN t-shirts and dark pants:
Chevol, Caden, Caelan, David, Peyton, Donald, Evan

Stage Right should wear BLUE t-shirts and dark pants:
Ayaan, Thomas, Angelina, Alex, DJ, Matthew, Alaa

Eva - Please wear white.

On Thursday afternoon, we will be walking to SATEC to practice. We will be leaving Clairlea at 12:30 and arriving back to school at about 2:30. Please wear your t-shirts for the full rehearsal.

Thursday, May 24 - Spring concert at SATEC. Please have students at SATEC by 6:00 pm. Concert runs from 6:30 - 8:00 pm.

Friday, May 25 - trip to the Sony Centre for Outside Looking In. I am still waiting for some permission forms.

Monday, June 4 - trip to the ROM. I am still waiting for MOST permission forms.

Monday, June 11 - Library visit.

Tuesday, June 12 - Scientist in the School - Light and Sound Workshop.

Thursday, June 21 - Bowling trip - please have permission form in asap.

Friday, June 22 - First nations Pow Wow field trip. Permission forms have not yet gone home for this.

Reminders

* Homework has gone home today - Math practice and small writing assignment. Due on Friday. Please check at home for homework writing books - some students are missing them from their homework bags. 

* Library Books - many students have overdue library books. Please check at home. 

* Water bottles - please do not send in plastic water bottles. These are wasteful, expensive and toxic for our environment. I throw out several every day - half used and straight into the bin. Re-usable water bottles only, please!

Hi all

1. Please check your student's backpack for a permission form for our trip to the Sony Centre for Outside Looking In, on Friday, May 25. Please use the Online Cash System to pay. 


2. I will be sending home a permission form for our ROM trip on June 4. This trip is free with special thanks to Parent Council. Look for a permission form in your student's backpack tomorrow. 

A couple of pictures from today's Math class where we worked with 3 beam balances. And a pic from our Kick Start Arts class this morning. Lots of hands-on learning because "Thank you for those worksheets" said no student EVER!

Kick Start Art will be facilitating a workshop with our morning class. The theme is "Create a Kindness Folktale."

Track and Field all day.

Sunscreen, water, hats/caps, running shoes, shorts/trackpants/leggings, sweatshirt.

Big lunch and snacks - you will be outside and busy all day.

Hello everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know that, as of today, I am back teaching the Grade 4 class until the end of June. Thank you to all for your support over the last several months. Very special and heartfelt thank you to Ms Bourikos for being the Grade 4 teacher in my absence.
